The college was established by Shri Rajan babu in 1949 for providing higher education to the students specially who were socially and economically deprived.The college holds the distinction of being the only institution providing higher education to the village and poor students in the surrounding region.The college is a multi-faculty college with Commerce, Education & Arts faculty. The college has adequate infrastructural facilities – class rooms, library, computer laboratory, playground etc.The college has conducted a good number of extension activities to strengthen college neighborhood network. The NSS unit is an asset to the college which allows 200 volunteers. This unit conducts various extension activities to help our students become aware of their social responsibilities. The college has been working sincerely for the betterment of the students. The college has a well maintained library.The college has Students Grievance Redressal Cell, Anti Ragging Committee, Students Council, Students Welfare Board, Alumni Association. Staff members possess Ph. D. and many of them are pursuing Ph. D. The faculty are consistently busy in several research activities.

The vision of the college is to achieve merit with ethics. Social, regional, territorial,
geographical, racial and cultural boundaries no longer hold relevance in the present
scenario. The academic programmes of the college have been designed to ensure dynamic,
interactive, innovative methodologies of learning to enhance the academic accomplishments of
the students. The college is committed to instill in the students a deep sense of ethics,
which having amalgamated with their inner talents transforming them into ideal, dedicated,
sincere and responsible citizens of the world.
