About the Department:-
The
department of Economics has started from the academic session 1949-50. The
state government recognized the B.A. classes with vide letter no. 1441 dated 12/07/1949
from director of Higher Education, Allahabad and M.A. classes with confirmation
from Governor/chancellor's office later number 6492/G-S dated 18-07-1960. Economics
is used in almost all aspects of life and is a big part of many of the
decisions that we make every day. Economics is such an important area to study
in that it helps to understand societal and global affairs. Economics is often
described as a body of knowledge or study that discusses how a society tries to
solve human problems of unlimited wants and scarce resources. Because economics
is associated with human behaviour, the study of economics is classified as a
social science. Because economics deals with human problems, it cannot be an
exact science and one can easily find differing views and descriptions of
economics. The elements of overview that constitute the study of economics,
that is, wants, needs, security, resources, goods and services, economic choice
and the law of supply and demand. Every person of the world is involved with
economic decisions everyday of their life.
