The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

Bundelkhand Mahavidyalaya Jhansi has had a bright period of NCC. Personalities like Capt. S.S. Kothari worked as NCC officer in the year 1961 to establish the NCC unit of Bundelkhand Mahavidyalaya followed by Lt. M.P. Gupta, Dr. S. Dr. S.P. Pathak, Major V.J. Shrivastava, Lt. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, Dr. S.K. Rai respectively raised the NCC to the highest level while serving as NCC Company Commanders. After that, in the year 2016, the responsibility of NCC officer was taken by Dr. Neelam Singh, Associate Professor, Mathematics. Since then, she has been performing the responsibility of Company Commander of Bundelkhand Mahavidyalaya Unit. During her time, the NCC unit of Bundelkhand College is making steady progress. Two NCC cadets of Bundelkhand Mahavidyalaya namely: Syed Zeeshan Hashmi and Divya Pal have been awarded the Chief Minister's Gold Medal.
