About the Department:-
The department was established in 1975 and the B.A. classes
were started from the academic session 1975-76. The state government accorded
the recognition of B.A. classes vides letter no. 29859 dated 18/12/1975 from
director of Higher Education, Allahabad and confirmation from
Governor/chancellor's office later number E-3696/G-S dated 19th October, 1981.
Presently the department offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in
psychology with well equipped lab and departmental library. With eminent
psychologists and research scholars, department is contributing to the areas of
contemporary social relevance like positive psychology, health psychology,
clinical and community psychology, personality, cognitive psychology and
psychology applied to problems of day to day living.
